Giorgi Kamkamidze, MD, PhD, MS

Giorgi Kamkamidze, MD, PhD, MS

George Kamkamidze, MD, PhD, MS is a full professor at the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, University of Georgia, head of the Research Department, Health Research Union, and the director of Clinic NeoLab, Tbilisi, Georgia. He got his MD and PhD from the Tbilisi State Medical University and his MS in Biometry and Statistics from the Albany School of Public Health, SUNY, Albany, NY. He was also a post-doctoral fellow at the Wadsworth Center for Laboratories and Research, Albany, NY (Scholarship from the Fogarty International Center, NIH). He was a Fulbright professor and researcher at the Institute for Health and the Environment, SUNY, Albany, NY. He is a member of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. Dr. Kamkamidze’s research interest is focused on the public health and immunogenetic aspects of HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and other infectious diseases.

Maia Butsashvili, MD, MS, PhD

Maia Butsashvili, MD, MS, PhD

Maia Butsashvili received her PhD (2010) and Master's (2000) degrees from State University of New York. In 1993, she graduated from Tbilisi State Medical Institute. Currently, she works as an infectious diseases specialist at the clinic Neolab and is the director of Health Research Union. Dr. Butsashvili has 30 years of experience in clinical medicine, epidemiology, participation and management of research projects. She is an author of more than 80 scientific publications

Lasha Gulbiani, MPH

Lasha Gulbiani, MPH

Lasha Gulbiani received his MPH from the International School of Public Health of Tbilisi State Medical University. His experience includes Data Analysis Specialist and Coordinator in various projects. Currently he is regional branches’ manager at Clinic Neolab and project coordinator at Health Research Union.

Tamar Akhvlediani, MD, PhD, MScPH

Tamar Akhvlediani, MD, PhD, MScPH

Tamar Akhvlediani received her MD degree from Tbilisi State Medical University, a PhD from Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and MScPH from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the University of London. She completed residency in Neurology at the Tbilisi State Medical Academy. Currently she is a neurologist at Clinic Neolab and a researcher at Health Research Union.

Maia Kajaia, MD, MS, PhDc

Maia Kajaia, MD, MS, PhDc

Maia Kajaia almost 20 years of experience in public health and epidemiology. In 2004, she got Master’s Degree in Epidemiology at School of Public Health of New York State University at Albany, USA. Since 2020, Maia is a doctoral student at Doctoral Program in Public Health and Epidemiology of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She works as the head of Epidemiologic Department at Health Research Union.

Sopio Adamia, MPH

Graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University, Faculty of public health and management (Bachelor) and University of Georgia, Faculty of Public Health and Health Policy (Master).Participated in various research projects. Works in HRU as an epidemiologist.

He obtained his MPH degree at Tbilisi State Medical University. Since 2020, he is pursuing his PhD in Public Health at the University of Georgia. Giorgi participated in various research projects as a coordinator and a database manager. He works as an epidemiologist at clinic Neolab and as a researcher in the Health Research Union.

Tamar Maglakelidze graduated from International School of Public Health of Tbilisi State Medical University. She has 10 years of experience in participating in various public health projects. Tamar currently works as an epidemiologist at Health Research Union.

Tata Sirbiladze, MD

Tata Sirbiladze, MD

Tata Sirbiladze graduated from Faculty of Medicine at Tbilisi Medical University. At different times, she worked at Drug Agency and Regulation Agency for Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities, also on the position of the head of Division for Management of Provision of the Populations with Specific Medicines at Social Service Agency of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. She has many years of experience in managing public health projects, including State Program of C hepatitis Elimination in Georgia.

Marika Kochlamazashvili, DMD, LL.B., MPH, PhDc

Marika Kochlamazashvili, DMD, LL.B., MPH, PhDc

Marika Kochlamazashvili works as the head of department of Biostatistics in Health Research Union. In 2010, she received her Master degree in Public Health at the International School of Public Health of Tbilisi State Medical University. Currently, she is a doctoral student at Doctoral Program in Public health of Tbilisi State Medical University. She has long-term experience in organizing public health projects.

Giga Abashidze graduated from International School of Public Health of Tbilisi State Medical University in 2011. He works as a public health specialist/biostatistician at Health Research Union. He also has many years of work experience in addictology.

Tinatin Abzianidze, MD, MPH, PhD

Tinatin Abzianidze, MD, MPH, PhD

Tinatin Abzianidze received her PhD at the University of Georgia in 2022. She also received her Master's degree in Epidemiology in 2010 and has completed long-term training course in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the State University of New York. Since 2009 she has been actively involved in scientific projects in the field of public health. She also holds the position of manager at Clinic Neolab. Tinatin Abzianidze is the author/co- author of 7 scientific publications.
